## Voice

| Setting | What it does |
| ---------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Narration voice** | Who reads your updates. Jarvis (butler), Aria (calm), Friday (warm), and Atlas (cinematic) ship with the managed app. |
| **Speaking speed** | 0.7x to 1.2x playback speed. |
| **Mode** | Co-pilot, Companion, or Focus. See [Listening modes](/listening-modes). |
| **Style** | A drop-in narration style. ADHD keeps lines short and punchy; Verbose explains more; Karpathy narrates with lean, assumption-stating precision. |
| **Narrate routine steps** | Off by default. On, Heard gives a running play-by-play of tool activity instead of speaking only at turns. |
| **Spatial audio** | When two projects run at once, the background one speaks slightly to the side. Stereo output only. |
| **Errors / Blocked / Completions** | Which event families always speak. |

## Dictation (Power)

| Setting | What it does |
| ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Enable voice input** | Turns Heard Whisper on. |
| **Push to talk** | Hold Right Command to speak; release to insert text at your cursor. |
| **Microphone** | Pick a specific input device, or follow the system default. |

## Heard Parrot (Power)

| Setting | What it does |
| ------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Answer depth** | Brief, Balanced, or Deep first answers. See [Heard Parrot](/parrot). |
| **Progress updates** | Short spoken waypoints while Parrot digs. |
| **Disable safe open commands** | Makes Parrot answer-only. |

## Notch

| Setting | What it does |
| ---------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Show the notch** | The visual surface under your camera. Audio continues if you hide it. |
| **Pop when a task finishes** | The focused done card. See [The notch](/the-notch). |
| **Expand on hover** | Hover to open the session list; off means the notch only opens when something needs you. |
| **Default view** | Dashboard (session lanes) or Turn view (the conversation thread, Power). |
| **Usage bar** | Show your narration usage at a glance. |
