The companion is part of [Heard Power](/heard-power). Your Mac stays the host: the agents keep running there, and the phone is a window onto them. ## Pair your iPhone #### Create a pairing code On your Mac, open Heard Settings, go to **Dictation**, and choose **Pair phone**. Heard shows a private QR code. #### Scan it Scan the code with your iPhone camera to open the Heard companion app. #### Talk Speak or tap a reply when an agent needs you. To move to a new phone or start over, choose **Pair again** on the Mac. The companion's own settings show whether your Mac is reachable and let you disconnect the phone. ## One thread, every session The companion is a single conversation thread: * **All sessions** shows messages from every live session together, each labeled with its project. Your own messages show which session they went to. * **The session picker** at the top filters the thread to one session. Sessions are grouped by Needs you, Working, and Quiet. * **Questions** appear as cards at the bottom of the thread. ## Listen live Tap the headphones to hear the same narration your Mac is speaking, across all sessions. Narration pauses while you record a voice message. ## Reply and answer * **Type a reply** to the session you picked. In All sessions, a reply goes to the session you last replied to, or to the one that needs you first. Swipe a message to reply to its session. * **Record a voice message** with the microphone button to send your words to that session. * **Answer a question** by choosing an option and then tapping Send. The two steps keep a mistaken tap from answering for you. ## Permission requests Permission requests are approved on your Mac, not from the phone. > **Note** > > Heard Parrot is not available in the iPhone companion. Ask Parrot from your Mac. > Heard is the voice layer for coding agents on macOS. Spoken progress from Claude Code and Codex, hands-free replies, and Heard Parrot codebase Q&A. Docs cover setup, listening modes, plans, and privacy.
