# Heard Power

Heard Power closes the voice loop. It adds spoken replies, push to talk dictation, ambient voice input, [Heard Parrot](/parrot) codebase questions, and browser based iPhone pairing to the managed Heard experience.

## Push to talk

Heard Whisper is built-in dictation in the spirit of Wispr Flow, Superwhisper, and macOS dictation, wired straight into your coding agent instead of a separate app.

Hold Right Command, speak, and release. Heard transcribes on your Mac and inserts the text at the active cursor.

While Heard is speaking, the talk key can also interrupt narration. Tap to stop the current sentence, or hold it to begin talking back.

## Ambient input

Ambient input listens for speech without requiring the talk key. It includes:

* Voice activity detection
* Barge-in: start talking and Heard yields, holding its narration until you finish
* Local speech recognition through Heard Whisper
* An idle guard that automatically drops back to push to talk after a stretch of silence, so the mic never stays armed unattended

## Courtesy mute on calls

When another app starts recording from your microphone, a meeting, a call, or a huddle, Heard holds its narration and catches you up after the mic is released. Known meeting apps such as Zoom, Teams, Webex, and FaceTime also mute narration in ambient mode.

## Custom vocabulary

Teach Heard Whisper the words it keeps missing: project names, teammates, jargon. Corrections apply to every dictation and spoken reply.

From Heard 1.1.53, your vocabulary syncs with your account, so it survives updates and reinstalls, and the courtesy mute gets a settings toggle - flip it off to keep narration on the track while you record a video.

## Talk back to an agent

When an agent asks a question or needs approval, answer by voice and route the response to the selected session.

Use [Multiple agents](/multiple-agents) to understand automatic routing and session pinning.

## iPhone pairing

Heard Power can pair with an iPhone through the browser for listening and talk back. The desktop app remains the session host on your Mac.

Heard Whisper speech recognition runs on device. Microphone audio does not leave your Mac for transcription.
